Storytelling & Oral Traditions: Writing Between Echo & Invention

May 17, 2025 @ 11:00 am 1:00 pm

Join us for a workshop where we invite writers to engage with oral storytelling traditions, folktales & mythologies, both inherited and invented.

We’ll explore how repetition, rhythm, voice, and memory shape narrative in cultures that privilege oral transmission.Through generative writing exercises, we’ll reimagine folk tales, draw on intergenerational memory, and write stories that carry the music of spoken word and ancestral voice. This workshop is for adults only.

No prior writing experience necessary – just bring a pen, paper and your favourite folktale to explore!

Kindly send a deposit of KES 2,500 to +254 768 855041 (Fatima) to reserve a spot.

We ask for a KES 2,500-4,500 contribution to the project.
